According to the Good Housekeeping Institute our carpets should be vacuum cleaned on a weekly basis. This is probably carried out in most households. However, how many of us follow their advice on cleaning blinds and vacuuming our curtains on a monthly basis?
On a 3 – 6 monthly basis we should be washing or dry cleaning our bedspreads and duvets in order to maintain basic household hygiene. The Institute goes on to recommend that upholstered furniture and carpets should be deep cleaned on a yearly basis. It all makes you think, doesn’t it?
This is all good common sense and when we hear it it is hard to disagree. Let’s face it, we live in a dirty, polluted world which is full of damaging grit, germs and allergens. When all this is considered it makes planned, regular cleaning of our homes more than just an appearance enhancer………..it is a health necessity!
So, why do so many of us neglect to carry out basic, essential cleaning work? We are aware of the health benefits of a clean home and better indoor air quality but we tend to let things slip unless we are reminded to get on with things by unsightly stains or visible dust rising into the air.
The “Ultimate Cleaning Checklist” published in 2017 by the Good Housekeeping Institute went on to list the whole range of daily, weekly, 6 monthly and yearly cleaning requirements in our homes and it is all good, sound advice. The only problem is that to achieve it all would be a full time job. This is fine if you are home with little else to do, but few of us are. We have busy lives and very little time. So, instead it is best to turn to a professional soft furnishing cleaning company to carry out the periodic cleaning of our curtains, carpets, upholstery and rugs. Their use of superior equipment and cleaning agents by technically qualified staff will deliver high quality results that last for much longer than a job done by ourselves.
So, choose a well established, tried and trusted company with extensive knowledge of textile cleaning to ensure that your home is a cleaner, fresher, healthier place for you and your family and enjoy the extra life given to your cherished soft furnishings. The removal of damaging grit, germs and allergens that exist the modern world will improve the environment of your home.
